The Unfinished Coffee

Drinking coffee alone in Starbucks is one of the saddest stories in my life. I looked at Kashyap, who was enjoying his date. “Saale, stop enjoying,” I thought. It is not that that I don’t like girls or something. Girls just don’t find me enough attractive, and surely, why would they?

Just then, a handbag was kept in the table, breaking my chain of thoughts. I looked up and probably couldn’t breathe for a moment. My heart started beating faster as I saw her tuck her hair behind her ear. Yes, before me was the most beautiful girl I had seen. I initiated the conversation with a ‘hi’. She replied with a ‘hey’.

“If you won’t mind, we have an assignment to complete, remember,” Kashyap asked me as I was completely lost in the conversation with Tiya, the girl who could bring my heart out of my mouth just by standing at the other end of the coffee table about an hour ago. “Oh!” I said and continued,”Need to go Tiya. TTYL.” Saying so, I stood and limped out from the cafe. While leaving, I glanced a quick look at Tiya. The excitement to talk to me was now replaced by disappointment writ large on her face. No wonder I am and probably will remain single!

I can’t believe Kashyap has come on another date and requested me to come to Starbucks again! I sat on the table waiting for someone to take my order when a mug of coffee slid towards me. I looked up and saw…. Tiya! She smiled at me and said,” Let’s finish the unfinished coffee and the unfinished story.”
