5 ACTS OF SELFCARE (THAT YOU CAN PRACTICE NOW!)

What’s up, people? Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone who is celebrating!

As a proud member of the Single People’s Club, I have decided to spend this Valentine’s Day practicing self-love, which, if you know me well, is nothing new (because I try to practice it every day). I always say that loving yourself is the first step to loving everyone else in your life.

So, even if you’re sulking hard while reading this, ugly crying while liking all the Instagram couples’ photos, or seeking refuge in fictional characters like me, get up and give yourself the care you deserve.

Try a hobby you’ve been dying to do

All of us have hobbies that we often overlook for various reasons—maybe we don’t have the time, or maybe we lack the enthusiasm. Today, pledge to yourself to try that hobby out and give yourself a little retreat at home!

Me? Dearest gentle reader, this author will be sipping their coffee and reading another slow-burn enemies-to-lovers on the day that celebrates love.

Dress up, or glam up

It’s exhilarating to blast music and dance around while applying a swatch of lipstick. Or maybe get a haircut? Ooh, or finally buy that outfit you’ve been eyeing? The possibilities are endless.

Meditation and mindfulness

On a scale of 1-10, my nervousness level is nail-biting at every minor inconvenience. So, meditation and mindfulness—a moment to just be present—give me a much-needed sense of calm in the chaos.

Crying (or laughing, or crying while laughing)

HEAR ME OUT. Nothing makes me happier than allowing myself a good cry once in a while. And a good laugh. Or both.

Regulating your emotions is important, so you don’t overwhelm yourself with the monotony of feeling the same way every day.

Do whatever you feel like doing in the moment

Go all haywire. Be spontaneous. Be unapologetic about it.

That’s all the advice I had. The blog is short because I’ve been rewatching Bridgerton and cannot miss the iconic “I burn for you” moment.

Just kidding! The blog is short, but you can add more advice for others in the comments below.

So, what self-care practice are you opting for today?
